We are seeking a Specialist Occupational Health & Hygiene within the Health, Safety & Environment Department at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL). This role will report directly to the Occupational Physician.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of occupational hygiene technical expertise, support and assistance to site. They will also be responsible for the proactive development of programs associated with hygiene monitoring and the management of the Occupational Health and Hygiene Program at QAL.

Responsibilities of this role include:
Ensuring QAL complies with statutory occupational hygiene requirements
Provision of technical expertise and support to site on all aspects of Occupational Health and Hygiene
Development and management of the QAL Occupational Hygiene monitoring and improvement programs
Ensuring updates to legal and other requirements are reviewed and necessary changes documented
Provide support with respect to the management of hazardous substances
The ideal candidate will possess:
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene
Member of an accredited professional organisation e.g. AIOH
5 plus years’ experience as a practising Occupational Hygienist in an industrial environment
Ability to interpret, analyse and report on occupational hygiene data is essential
Experience in managing, mentoring and developing multi-disciplinary teams across multiple groups is desirable
Experience in developing and implementing project plans
Experience with asbestos management
Experience with industrial HSEC systems, ideally with Alumina Refinery experience would be highly regarded
Advanced PC skills in Medgate, ChemAlert, Microsoft Office and SAP knowledge are desirable
